Condition Monitoring Engineer

Role

  • Improving equipment reliability through condition monitoring techniques (Vibration, Oil analysis and Thermography)
  • Monitor and manage the condition and performance of all rotating machineries and equipment of Coral FLNG facilities regularly ensuring optimal performance to support plant operations.
  • Maintain timely execution of condition and performance analysis for all rotating equipment. Participate in equipment failure investigations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an effective condition monitoring system to monitor performance of mechanical rotating machineries in order to improve reliability and availability of Coral FLNG facilities.
  • Responsible for the vibration monitoring program either online to check healthiness of system 1 or offline to collect vibration readings in the plant. He shall analyse results, report any abnormalities and propose solutions to improve reliability based on his analysis.
  • Responsible to organize oil samples to be taken. He shall analyse sample results, report any abnormalities and propose solutions to improve reliability based on his analysis.
  • Responsible for Thermography, camera status, take readings, analyse results and propose solutions based on his analysis to improve system reliability
  • Managing of contractor who takes the route
  • Highlight bad actors in light of analysis he conducts
  • Respond timely and proactively to Operation and Maintenance technical queries in order to achieve high plant availability and reliability.
  • Assist the Lead rotating equipment Engineer in carrying out Equipment Failure, Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Analysis. Ensure the adequate frequency of the scheduled condition monitoring and reliability improvement programs in view of historical data pertaining to reliability and performance of mechanical equipment malfunctions.
  • Prepare detailed condition monitoring and performance monitoring checklists, and estimated man-hour and job requirements.
  • Supervise systematic collection and analysis of reliability and performance data on all mechanical equipment and machineries and recommend maintenance programs, upgrading, or modifications to improve reliability and performance of equipment.
  • Coordinate closely with other sections for major shutdowns and carry out reliability and performance analysis including base line data collection and analysis following new installations, modifications, major maintenance or overhaul of mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Identify needs for maintenance and overhaul of equipment based on condition monitoring, reliability, and performance data analysis and inform maintenance section to raise maintenance work orders after Manager Mechanical Support approval.
  • Receive, investigate, and resolve complaints related to performance or condition of mechanical equipment and machineries, evaluate innovative technologies, and identify opportunities for improvement, recommending changes/upgrades to maximize reliability of plant facilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8 years’ relevant experience in Condition Monitoring or Reliability Engineering in gas, LNG or petrochemical plant.
  • Certified ISO CAT III.
  • Appropriate certification in Thermography.
  • Experience and knowledge of Condition and Performance monitoring Management Software systems.
  • Sound and good technical knowledge of, vibration analysis, thermography and turbo machinery.
  • Capable of Producing technical engineering reports and studies.
