Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful HSE Officer to be based in Afungi.<\/p>\n

ACTIVITIES<\/h3>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Implement and monitor Company and Contractor HSE Systems, processes, and procedures in delivering project HSE goals.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Always lead by example and promote Golden Rules and STOP Card Stop Work Authority.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Implements applicable occupational health and hygiene company rules and procedures.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Conduct regular Safety, Health\/Hygiene and environmental inspections to construction site, accommodation area and canteen facilities.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0conducting awareness and guidance program to make the workforce aware of the risks related to the work as well as about prevention of accidents and occupational health issues Review JSA\/Risk. Assessments in the field to ensure contractors are working to their agreed processes and systems.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure Contractor daily plant and equipment checks are being undertaken and recorded.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure all unsafe acts and conditions are recorded on the observation system (on the day of the event) along with immediate actions taken and any further actions required to prevent recurrence.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide prompt and transparent reporting to the Site project and site HSE Manager \u00a0 respectively on all matter related to site HSE.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Ensure Contractor\u2019s HSE and Supervisory personnel are effectively delivering the HSE Plan in compliance with Bridging documents, Contractor\u2019s HSEMS and contractual obligations;<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Support Company Site Leadership with HSE engagement sessions with Contractors, influencing behaviors and promoting an incident free mind-set such as but not limited to:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Site Inductions \/ kick of meetings \/ Toolbox \/ HSE meetings .<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Support and prepare HSE data for Site project manager for regular Contractor HSE performance meetings.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide assurance at sites that Company, and Contractor conduct thorough, open and transparent incident investigations and where required, lead Company Incident Investigations.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide site leadership support in Emergency Response scenarios as required.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Support the reward and recognition program and monitor performance.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Actively support HSE applications for return on Experience, Management of Change and Continual Improvement.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Promote positive environmental protection culture aligned to environmental Policy.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Implement the waste management plan and the biodiversity monitoring program.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure clear and concise written handovers are provided for Back-to-Back.<\/p>\n

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT<\/h3>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Project team is spread between Paris, Milan, London and Mozambique and is expected to gather people from different cultures and background thus requiring understanding of cultural sensitivities and local legal requirements.<\/p>\n

ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/h3>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensures field personnel are conversant with safety culture tools including usage of stop cards.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensures work is performed safely and environmental sound manner.<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATION\/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED<\/h3>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Bachelor\u2019s degree or diploma in management\/H&S Engineering fields.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Min 5 years in construction operation or similar HSE experience<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0HSE Training \/ competencies<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge of Mozambique HSE legislation<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must be fluent in Portuguese and English.<\/p>\n
