OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR \u2013 Cranes Division<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cranes and Heavy Lift Cargo Handling Division<\/em><\/p>\n

MAIN ROLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supervise and coordinate the operations of LASO Mo\u00e7ambique’s Cranes Division, ensuring efficient, safe and compliant management of equipment and teams involved in heavy lift, materials handling and special transport operations in Mozambique and in neighboring countries where the company operates. Responsible for ensuring that all lifting and materials-handling operations are planned, executed and monitored in accordance with LASO’s and its clients’ technical, contractual and Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) standards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in crane operations, lifting and heavy lift \/ project cargo handling;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven experience managing multinational teams, including operations in Mozambique and neighboring countries (e.g. South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania);<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Practical knowledge of large-scale project operations (e.g. LNG, energy, mining, hydroelectric) is an advantage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Technical or higher education degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field (preferred);<\/strong><\/p>\n

CERTIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL CREDENTIALS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Mobile Crane Operator certification, where applicable to direct technical supervision duties;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Lifting Supervisor certification (e.g. LEEA, CICB, or an industry-recognized equivalent) (preferred);<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Rigging and Signaling certification (Rigger \/ Banksman \/ Slinger), with knowledge of applicable standards (e.g. LOLER, ASME B30, or equivalent local standards) (preferred);<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Occupational Health and Safety training (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) and knowledge of safe lifting work procedures (Lift Plans, Method Statements);<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Valid driver’s license; valid passport and availability to travel and work under a regional mobility arrangement;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Additional certifications in cargo\/logistics project management will be considered an asset.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Fluent in Portuguese and English, written and spoken, for communication with local teams, international clients and regional partners (French is an additional advantage);<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Strong leadership and team management skills in multicultural, multinational environments;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in dynamic operational environments;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Strategic vision with a strong focus on safety, quality and meeting deadlines;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Technical and practical knowledge of lifting equipment (mobile cranes, crawler cranes, SPMTs, among others);<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Flexibility for frequent travel between Mozambique and neighboring countries;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Proactive, committed, with a strong sense of responsibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Plan, organize and supervise all lifting, materials-handling and heavy cargo transport operations carried out by the Cranes Division;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Manage and coordinate technical and operational teams in Mozambique and neighboring countries, ensuring efficient allocation of human resources and equipment;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Prepare and validate Lift Plans, Method Statements and other technical documentation required for lifting operations;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) procedures across all operations;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitor the condition, maintenance and certification of lifting and materials-handling equipment, ensuring legal and technical compliance;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders on the scheduling and execution of operations;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Control costs, deadlines and operational performance of the division, proposing continuous improvements;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Carry out risk management for operations, identifying hazards and implementing mitigation measures;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Report regularly to Management on the division’s performance, incidents, near-misses and non-conformities;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure ongoing training and technical development of the teams under their responsibility;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure the correct allocation of equipment and staff according to the needs and specifications of each client and project;<\/strong><\/p>\n
