Role and Responsibilities<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

The Communications Officer will support in planning, coordinate and develop high quality communications products for traditional media, social media, and programs communications in both English and Portuguese as appropriate. The Communications Officer will further facilitate high levels of engagement and ownership from program teams, and build skills within the team to develop quality communications products in line with NRC guidelines and compliance with donor requirements. The post will be responsible for liaising with national and international media.<\/span><\/p>\n

Generic Responsibilities<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

The following are responsibilities generic to all NRC Communication Officer roles<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Support development and implementation of the Communications Strategy, and in line with NRC\u2019s Global Communications Strategy.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Work collaboratively with colleagues in Mozambique and other NRC offices to develop and monitor a communications action plan that reflects use of a variety of different communications vehicles (photos, case studies, online platforms, infographics, videos etc).\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Undertake regular travel to NRC program locations to gather content relating to NRC programs, and support program staff with communications-related activities.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Support all programs teams with the development of visibility materials, ensuring these are developed in compliance with NRC and donor guidelines.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Craft creative products that portray the humanitarian situation and needs in a manner that is dignified and focuses on the capacity of people in Mozambique for individual agency, in line with NRC guidelines.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Work closely with media and communications colleagues at the regional and global levels to develop, coordinate and polish communications materials.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Participate in coordination mechanisms and forums as appropriate.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Liaise professionally and efficiently with national and international journalists.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Oversee NRC Mozambique\u2019s social media outputs and manage feedback and complaints in coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Develop communications-related tools, templates or SOPs as required.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Any other communications-related task as required or directed<\/span>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
