They will be tasked with solving complex Sustainability-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Principal Sustainability Spec may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in Sustainability. Tasks and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Principal Sustainability Spec is responsible for one or more of the following disciplines (Sustainability, Environmental)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Sustainability<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work strategically with Human Resources, Finance, and all business areas<\/li>\n<li>Lead assessments of social impacts, defining mitigation and social management plans<\/li>\n<li>Drive adoption and encourage best practices internally<\/li>\n<li>Advise on best practices in social performance<\/li>\n<li>Client account management, engagement with project funders, affected communities, and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to business development and winning activities<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate leadership in Quality, Health, and Safety<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and define project bids<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and keep a record of the company\u2019s volunteering initiatives including personal sustainability pledge<\/li>\n<li>Proactively deliver and manage time and quality delivery of sustainability advisory services, and project-related tasks to meet budget, time frame, and quality targets, exceeding client expectations<\/li>\n<li>Identify and implement opportunities to improve sustainability outcomes for infrastructure projects such as alternate material, resource, and construction efficiencies<\/li>\n<li>Gain awareness of and familiarity with the commercial aspects of projects to develop commercial skills<\/li>\n<li>Deliver Infrastructure Sustainability Ratings and other sustainability ratings<\/li>\n<li>Investigate emerging sustainability issues, evaluating the risk they pose to the scheme while identifying and implementing solutions<\/li>\n<li>Work with international regulators, industry, and other relevant organizations to address emerging challenges to the sustainability and integrity of the company<\/li>\n<li>Manage, provide support and guidance within the wider team, and assist with the management of budgets and commissions on behalf of the service, as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Environmental<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead cross-functional workshops to align sustainability goals with business strategy<\/li>\n<li>Represent McDermott at external events, presenting on sustainability initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Spearhead the development of McDermott&#8217;s sustainability innovation roadmap<\/li>\n<li>Initiate partnerships with NGOs or academic institutions for sustainability research<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to McDermott\u2019s thought leadership in industry publications<\/li>\n<li>Develop and deliver strategic sustainability training programs for leadership<\/li>\n<li>Lead the integration of emerging technologies for sustainable project execution<\/li>\n<li>Chair the strategic planning committee for McDermott\u2019s global sustainability goals<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement a comprehensive global sustainability communication strategy<\/li>\n<li>Lead McDermott\u2019s participation in global sustainability collaborations and initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Advocate for sustainability considerations in high-profile external partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Drive the development of sustainability policies in alignment with Qualifications and Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or relevant work experience in a related field<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in Sustainability, Social Responsibility, International Development, Human Rights, or a similar field is strongly preferred<\/li>\n<li>8+ years of experience in corporate social responsibility or sustainability within a multi-national organization<\/li>\n<li>3+ year experience in a leadership role or similar role<\/li>\n<li>Ability to think outside the box to deliver sustainable solutions for our clients, and be a multidisciplinary worker<\/li>\n<li>A flexible approach to challenges and possesses an ability to develop good relationships with internal and external clients<\/li>\n<li>Passion for sustainability with a focus on delivering to client needs<\/li>\n<li>Can confidently assess complex technical information, which may sometimes be incomplete or contradictory, to make decisions or recommendations and be able to communicate it to a wide variety of stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Good project management and analytical skills Strong communication skills \u2013 reporting, and presentation<\/li>\n<li>Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build effective relationships<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated, with diligence, integrity, and ambition<\/li>\n<li>Able to work independently and as part of a
