Our client, a leading global provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Biofuel Officer to based in Maputo.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/h3>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Operational Management and Sustainability: Agricultural Operations Oversight: Work closely with the Biofuel Explorer and field teams to supervise the daily operations of agricultural projects, focusing on project delivery, sustainable farming practices and small-scale farmer projects.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Co-benefit Assurance: Implement, monitor and report programs that ensure tangible social and environmental co-benefits, aligned with ESG principles and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Social Performance Management: Lead the execution of the project’s Social Performance strategy, including community engagement, grievance management, and social impact monitoring.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Reporting and Compliance: Ensure all operations are in full compliance with local and international ESG regulations, preparing detailed progress reports for leadership.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Institutional Representation and Licensing: Institutional Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact and project representative with ministries, private sector, civil society organizations, regulatory agencies, and other governmental authorities. Build and maintain strategic relationships with key partners, including NGOs, industry associations, and investors, to promote project objectives.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Licensing and Permits: Manage and conduct the process of obtaining and renewing licenses, concessions, and permits necessary for project operations, together with the company licensing department.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Strategic Communication: Represent the project at forums, meetings, and events, clearly and professionally communicating the progress, impacts, and commitment of the company to sustainability.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Qualification and background<\/h3>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Master\u2019s degree in business, Agronomy, Economy, Rural Development, or related areas.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Fluent in Portuguese and English. French is an asset.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Minimum 15 years of professional experience.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0At least 5 years of solid experience in Social Performance and\/or implementation of ESG and co-benefit strategies, including livelihood restoration and income generation initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge of the agriculture and biofuels market and its impacts.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Institutional relations and licensing processes in Mozambique or countries with a similar context.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Project management skills with capacity to work with multi-disciplinary experts (technical, economic, finance, commercial).<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Strong interpersonal skills will be necessary to engage local and regional stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Strong negotiation, communication, and institutional representation skills.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, with a cross-functional and delocalized team.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Synthetic and analytical mind, strength of conviction, perseverance.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Flexible mindset and autonomy are needed.<\/p>\n
