The role ensures that the safety, rights and dignity of forcibly displaced and conflict-affected populations remain central to the humanitarian response.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p><strong>Protection Coordination &amp; Information Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Support the Protection Cluster Coordinator in information management, communication and reporting among Cluster members and partners<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with OCHA on timely collection and transmission of protection reports and updates<\/li>\n<li>Compile and analyse protection data, including thematic reports, maps and advocacy materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Protection Analysis, Advocacy &amp; Strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Contribute to protection analysis, prioritisation and joint advocacy initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Support development and implementation of Protection strategies, including within pooled funding processes<\/li>\n<li>Promote international refugee law, IDP legislation and protection mainstreaming across sectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Coordination with Thematic Areas of Responsibility (AoRs)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Ensure effective liaison with AoRs including SGBV, Child Protection and Housing, Land &amp; Property<\/li>\n<li>Support follow-up of recommendations and alerts at all levels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Capacity Building &amp; Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Design, organise and deliver training on protection mainstreaming, AGD, monitoring and advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate training impact and strengthen partner operational capacity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Field Presence &amp; Community Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Maintain protection presence through regular field missions and engagement with affected populations, authorities and partners<\/li>\n<li>Ensure responses reflect the specific needs of females, children, older persons, persons with disabilities and minority groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Profile Required<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Law, International Law, Political Science or a related field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Minimum 3 years\u2019 experience in protection or humanitarian coordination<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with refugees, IDPs or other persons of concern<\/li>\n<li>Experience in information management and humanitarian communication desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Strong analytical, coordination and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design and deliver training and capacity-building activities<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate effectively in complex and challenging humanitarian environments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desirable Qualifications and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>Knowledge of UN policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the UN Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, as well as of relevant UNHCR and Inter-agency policies and guidelines on Protection.<\/li>\n<li>Computer skills: Office Package (excellent knowledge of Word, good knowledge of Excel and Power Point) and Internet browsing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c98f1fd2 feccaaa5\">\n<li>English \u2013 Fluent<\/li>\n<li>Portuguese \u2013 Fluent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Volunteer Living Allowance: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>UN Volunteers serve full-time in their professional expertise, supported by a benefits package, including a monthly living allowance to ensure a secure standard of living at their duty stations.
