AFRICA – MOZAMBIQUE\/MAPUTO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lead the technology vision for a disruptive, an AI-native fintech platform<\/strong> revolutionizing financial sector and payments in Mozambique. Build and mentor a lean, high-performing<\/strong> engineering team<\/strong> to develop scalable microservices using Java\/Spring Boot, Apache<\/strong> Fineract, and Kubernetes<\/strong>, integrating AI for automation and compliance.<\/p>\n

Oversee on-prem infrastructure<\/strong>, ensure regulatory alignment with national swith and Central<\/p>\n

Bank, and deliver secure, scalable operations.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Define and execute technology roadmap<\/strong> aligned with business objectives.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Design and oversee architecture<\/strong> using microservices<\/strong>, APIs, and open-source<\/strong> fintech frameworks<\/strong> (Mifos, Fineract, PaymentHub, National Swtich).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team<\/strong> (Backend, DevOps, QA, Mobile, AI\/ML, UX\/UI).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure data protection, security, scalability<\/strong>, and compliance with regulatory standards.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Collaborate with leadership, product, and compliance teams to deliver strategic technology milestones.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Implement DevOps best practices<\/strong> and CI\/CD pipelines for on-premise deployments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Integrate AI-driven insights<\/strong> for automation, decision support, and operational excellence.<\/p>\n

Tech Stack & Tools<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Core:<\/strong> Java \/ Spring Boot \/ PostgreSQL \/ Kafka \/ Kubernetes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fintech Frameworks:<\/strong> Apache Fineract, Mifos X, Paymenthub.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Data & AI:<\/strong> TensorFlow, Apache Airflow, LangChain.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Infrastructure:<\/strong> On-prem Linux servers (Dockerized), CI\/CD pipelines.<\/p>\n

\u2022 APIs:<\/strong> REST, Open Banking (FAPI), SIMO, Visa\/Mastercard integrations.<\/p>\n

Experience & Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 5+ years in software engineering, in fintech, digital banking, or payments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven leadership experience managing diverse, high-performing technical teams.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Expertise in scalable architecture<\/strong>, microservices, and open-source banking platforms.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience with on-prem deployments<\/strong>, compliance, and data sovereignty.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Excellent communication skills \u2014 English required<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Preferred Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience with open banking<\/strong>, RegTech<\/strong>, or AML<\/strong> systems.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Contributions to open-source fintech projects<\/strong> (Mifos, PaymentHub, Mojaloop,<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fineract).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Understanding of mobile-first UX<\/strong> design for low-connectivity environments.<\/p>\n
