{"id":24572,"date":"2025-09-02T05:46:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T05:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wizandroidmz.com\/emprego\/?p=24572"},"modified":"2025-09-02T05:46:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T05:46:15","slug":"vaga-shelter-and-wash-coordinator-mozambique-pemba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wizandroidmz.com\/emprego\/vaga-shelter-and-wash-coordinator-mozambique-pemba\/","title":{"rendered":"Vaga &#8211; Shelter and Wash Coordinator Mozambique Pemba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Role and responsibilities<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Generic responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Line management of Shelter and WASH project staff<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Responsible for the implementation of strategic plans and the management of day-to-day project activities including delegated budget portfolio<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines, including the ones for Shelter and WASH.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Coordinate and manage the implementation of shelter and WASH projects (project activities and documentation) in accordance with donor proposals, strategies and requirements in the Northern districts of Cabo Delgado.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensure capacity building for project staff and transfer key skills.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Liaise and collaborate with relevant local and national authorities and stakeholders and represent NRC in relevant forums \/ groups \/ working groups in Pemba.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Provide regular progress reports to Area Manager and the Shelter &amp; WASH Specialist<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Promote the rights of IDPs\/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Specific responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Provide leadership to the shelter and WASH team in the project activities<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Plan and coordinate activities based on informed decision-making through analysing indicator progress tools, budget spending tools, adherence to donor proposals and by elaborating, tracking and reviewing NRC workplans<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Support and provide technical assistance to the development of staff in their work roles and responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Identify priorities, issues and challenges related to project implementation<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Develop technical tools and documents to implement these new projects<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensure collaboration and coordination with all relevant stakeholders, including NRC departments, local organizations, INGOs, government institutions and UN agencies. Promote partnerships with local organisations and other peer organisations.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Identify synergies with other NRC sectors such as education and water and sanitation and shelter<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Find synergy with social safety net and resilience projects<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Contribute to NRC&#8217;s programme integration through referrals and multi-sector assessments<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Support monitoring and evaluation in collaboration with the M&amp;E department for indicator tracking and accountability to affected populations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Critical interfaces<\/p>\n<p>By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments\/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are: Strategy and Programme Development: Shelter and WASH Specialist, M&amp;E<\/p>\n<p>Implementation: Area Manager, Shelter and WASH Specialist, Other CC coordinators<\/p>\n<p>Area Operations: Area Manager<\/p>\n<p>Support Services: Support Coordinator, Support Officers<\/p>\n<p>Monitoring: M&amp;E team<\/p>\n<p>Staff Capacity Building: Shelter and WASH Specialist, Area Manager<\/p>\n<p>Scale and scope of position<\/p>\n<p>Staff: Pemba-based Shelter and WASH officers and assistants<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholders: UN agencies, INGOs, local NGOs, civil society, governmental bodies; community leaders<\/p>\n<p>Budgets: Budget holder for delegated relevant program costs;<\/p>\n<p>Information: Project databases, document archives, GORS, Agresso, etc.;<\/p>\n<p>Legal or compliance: NRC Security policy, NRC Code of Conduct, NRC Policies, NRC Standard Operating Procedures, vendor requirements<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Competencies are important in order for the employee and the organisation to deliver desired results. They are relevant for all staff and are divided into the following two categories: 1. Professional competencies<\/p>\n<p>These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic professional competencies for this position<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0University degree in Civil Engineering, or related field<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Minimum 3 years of experience of project implementation and knowledge of project cycle management<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts, preferably humanitarian context<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Technical expertise in Shelter, and WASH humanitarian projects,<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Documented results related to the position&#8217;s responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Fluency in Portuguese<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Advanced knowledge of English<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Knowledge of languages spoken in Cabo Delgado<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Commitment to humanitarian principles and NRC core values<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Context related skills, knowledge and experience<\/strong>\u00a0(shall be adapted to the specific position):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Knowledge of the context in Cabo Delgado;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Strong knowledge of MS package (Word, Excel&#8230;) and AutoCAD (or similar)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Knowledge of project management tools, i.e., budgets, spending plans, Indicator Tracking Tables etc.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Technical expertise on Shelter and WASH programming<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Good report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Thorough understanding of SPHERE standards<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Basic knowledge of protection for protection mainstreaming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2.
