Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI&#8217;s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams \u2013 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers &#8211; intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"widget-title-2\">About the mission<\/h2>\n<p>Solidarit\u00e9s International intervened in Mozambique in March 2019 for a few months following the passage of Cyclone Idai, which hit the Province of Sofala and the city of Beira hard. Operations were suspended after the emergency phase and the mission closed. The evolution of the situation in Cabo Delgado province, hit by several cyclones and severely affected by the violent actions of armed groups claiming to be IS, which caused the displacement of nearly 700 000 people, led to an assessment in May 2021 and to the reopening of the mission. The assessment carried out in the most affected district highlighted needs, particularly in the WASH sector, and the lack of emergency actors. The mission has opened in a complex security and administrative environment, where access is a major issue.<\/p>\n<p>Solidarit\u00e9s International was one of the first INGO actors to respond to the growing crisis in Cabo Delgado, leading emergency response and distributions in hard-to-reach areas.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"widget-title-2\">About the job<\/h2>\n<p><strong>General objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"740\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"6\" width=\"740\">The Country Director (CD) is Solidarit\u00e9s International\u2019s official representative in country and is in charge of the external representation and is in direct liaison with SI HQ. S\/he proposes the country strategy and ensure its implementation when validated. S\/he coordinates teams and ensures resources are properly allocated for the smooth running of the mission as per strategy and projects objectives. S\/he is in charge of employees and goods security.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main challenges:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"740\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"6\" width=\"740\">\n<ul>\n<li>Massive recent restructuration of mission due to BHA termination and reduction of activities =&gt; from 140 staffs to 40\/50 staffs in 2 months \/ from 3 bases to 1 coordination\/operational base + 1 sub-base \/ reduction of all support costs (premises, vehicles\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Potential tensions between staff members and\/or with authorities + communities<\/li>\n<li>Risk of loss of efficiency in daily security management as well as project management and monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Potential disorganization and unclarity of teams roles and responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Authorities relation very time consuming<\/li>\n<li>Financial landscape in MOZ<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Priorities for the 2\/3 first months:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"740\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"6\" width=\"740\">\n<ul>\n<li>Close financial monitoring in a moment of downsizing<\/li>\n<li>Reorganization and clarification roles and responsibilities in particular with Coordinators playing the role of field base manager<\/li>\n<li>Adaptation of security management and SOPs to new set-up<\/li>\n<li>RRM ECHO: Maintain operational presence in former areas of intervention (MDP) and start activities in new districts (southern districts)<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring of finalization of other ongoing activities\/projects under CDCS, SDC, AERMC = to be finalized by end June \/ end Sept<\/li>\n<li>CN\/proposal elaboration and fundraising<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"740\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"6\" width=\"740\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Security constraints:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pemba in Security level 2 \/ Mueda sub-base in Security level 3<br \/>\nMovement to field sub-base via UNHAS flight only (45 minutes flight)<br \/>\nTermination of many staffs + Mocimboa former base (level 3) recent closure due to BHA termination might have increased tension among teams and\/or with authorities and communities \/ global reduction of humanitarian assistance might lead, in coming months, to better recruitment capacity by OAGs and increased number of attacks<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2 class=\"widget-title-2\">Your profile<\/h2>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"601\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"4\" width=\"601\">Master in humanitarian action, development, international law or any other technical area related to the humanitarian sector.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in the humanitarian sector : +5 years<\/li>\n<li>Experience on a similar position : 3-4 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"601\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"4\" width=\"601\">1.
