Main tasks and responsibilities<\/h4>\n
\n

\u2022 Management and coordination of project activities;
\n\u2022 Together with the project team, planning and development of activities in the field;
\n\u2022 Contributing to the recruitment, inception and training of AVSI\u2019s programme staff, and contribute to their empowerment and further professional development;
\n\u2022 Management of the projects\u2019 staff, promotion of capacity building and co-responsibility within the team;
\n\u2022 Development and maintain of excellent relations with donors, partners and local authorities and with all stakeholders involved (institutions, donor, community etc.);
\n\u2022 Support in the supervision and verification of administrative and procurement procedures;
\n\u2022 Support for verifying the correctness of the administrative reporting of project expenses;
\n\u2022 Coordination of activities with respect to the schedule defined by the chronogram;
\n\u2022 Drafting, revision and updating of technical documents such as: ToR, Financing Proposals, General Operational Plans etc.;
\n\u2022 Development or support the development of AVSI project compliance documents such as: procurement plan, communication plan, MEAL plan, Appraisal for staff;
\n\u2022 Preparation of interim and final, narrative and accounting reports of the project to the donor and competent authorities;
\n\u2022 To represent AVSI in relevant coordination structures (i.e. Cluster and Working groups) and other meetings at provincial\/district level;
\n\u2022 To carry-out any other duties and\/or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Essential Requirements<\/h4>\n
\n

Qualification: MA\/MSC in Urban Planning, Architecture, Development, Disaster Management, Environmental Studies, Social Science etc.<\/p>\n

Work Experience:
\n\u2022 Minimum 5 years relevant experience of working with an INGO
\n\u2022 Minimum 3 years managing\/supporting implementation of community based DRR assessment and\/or projects;<\/p>\n

Language Proficiency: excellent knowledge of the English and Italian, Portuguese preferable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Required skills and experiences<\/h4>\n
\n

\u2022 Practical knowledge on local urban planning and disaster risk management planning process including development of the legal documents;
\n\u2022 Experience in running training programmes to various stakeholders (i.e. local authorities and communities) about climate change and urban development;
\n\u2022 Previous work experience in the international cooperation sector in Africa or Mozambique;
\n\u2022 Knowledge of Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of the main Office IT tools, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of GIS will be an advantage.<\/p>\n
