An Artisan supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures\/codes and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant.<\/p>\n

Recruitment Description \/ Key Accountabilities<\/b><\/p>\n
Proven competence in pre-identified areas per discipline of the plant\/mine\/equipment\/systems.<\/p>\n
Understand and use the plant maintenance documentation system.<\/p>\n
Understand planning work management system.<\/p>\n
Relevant plant\/mine specific\/basic process knowledge (defined per discipline).<\/p>\n
Compliance of Safety Management Systems e.g., IMS, MBO, etc.<\/p>\n
Able to apply emergency procedures.<\/p>\n
Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessment.<\/p>\n
Hazard identification\/task risk assessments.<\/p>\n
Participates in daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments.<\/p>\n
Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines.<\/p>\n
Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress.<\/p>\n
Participates in root cause analyses and provides feedback to RCA teams.<\/p>\n
Participates in risk assessments according to legislation and company requirements to improve safety.<\/p>\n
Maintains good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal procedures.<\/p>\n
Share knowledge with junior artisans in known environment\/context.<\/p>\n
Participates in quarterly performance appraisal with group leader to improve personal development.<\/p>\n
Identifies personal training and development needs and incorporates into PDP with group leader’s approval.<\/p>\n
Lead by example (walks the talk).<\/p>\n
Assists with the development of works instructions to develop a higher level of staff competency.<\/p>\n

Provides adequate feedback to group leader or planning officer on work progress.<\/p>\n
Ensures the correct history feedback is captured to improve renewals\/ upgrades and critical spares are replaced.<\/p>\n
Gives input at \u201ctoolbox talks\u201d to improve plant safety.<\/p>\n

Formal Education<\/b><\/p>\n
High School \/ School Diploma or similar (NQF level 4 (CHIETA\/MQA preferred) in electronics or Analytical instrumentation).<\/p>\n
