Semente & Victorino Consulting (“SVC”) is a consulting and strategy firm focused on human capital management and corporate immigration, whose mission is to provide strategic and innovative solutions to clients, with the objective of promoting and facilitating domestic and international operations. In this context, SVC is recruiting a Security Superintendent for its client, a multinational with mining operations in Nampula Province.

Location: Nampula

RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪ Compliance to relevant legislation · The accident/incident frequency is less than the set standard;

▪ Compliance to the company’s Health, Safety and Environment Management manual;

▪ The operation can attain highest accreditation ratings;

▪ Compliance to environmental licensing & permitting requirements – Incident forms are followed up on, and completed and investigated;

▪ Leading by example and proactively setting an example through reinforcing safe work practices and visibility in the workplace;

▪ Establishing agreed upon KPI’s;

▪ Managing performance continuously;

▪ Counselling employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies;

▪ Counselling team members regarding behavioral issues;

▪ Disciplining team members for behavioral non-compliances with verbal & written warnings & initiates formal disciplinary process;

▪ Ensuring problems are resolved within appropriate levels of accountability and responsibility for individuals and teams;

▪ Encouraging members to be actively involved in finding and implementing solutions;

▪ Ensuring all staff are competent to deliver the outputs of their jobs within a specified time after being appointed to the position and in line with the performance management system;

▪ Ensuring continuous and deliberate transfer of competencies to other team members;

▪ Compiling the departmental budget;

▪ Managing expenditure within budget parameters;

▪ Analyzing budget monthly and reporting on variances;

▪ Taking a pro-active approach through forecasting future expenditure on a monthly basis;

▪ Creating and implementing security standards, policies, and procedures;

▪ Plan, direct, and coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property;

▪ Analyzing and evaluating security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement; 

▪ Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems;

▪ Liaising with the community to educate them about security related issues and consequences of breaching company security;

▪ Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations;

▪ Monitor security policies, programs or procedures to ensure compliance with internal security policies, licensing requirements, or applicable government security requirements, policies, and directives;

▪ Identify, investigate, and resolve security breaches and recommend corrective action.

REQUIREMENTS:

▪ Degree in Risk Management or other relevant areas;

▪ Military/ Police/ Law Enforcement Certification (Merits);

▪ At least 5 years’ experience in Military (Police/Law enforcement);

▪ Experience in operational management;
